Detroit's Big 3 Automakers Beat Expectations - Business Insider

December auto sales reports are coming out, and they're already beating expectations.

Chrysler was the first of the big players to announce results and they jumped 10 percent, which was higher than the 7.6 percent analysts were looking for.? These figures were both reported by Bloomberg.

Ford is reporting that U.S. light vehicle sales climbed 1.6 percent, which was higher than the 1.2 percent gain expected.

Rounding out the Detroit three, GM reported that vehicle sales jumped 4.9 percent, which crushed expectations for just 2.1 percent growth.

Total vehicle sales are expected to come in at 15.3 million for the month of December.
